Abdominal mass


  • 12 year old female neutered Bichon Frise with severe anaemia and thrombocytopaenia
  • Large heterogenous and cavitatory mass caudal to left kidney and dorsal to aorta and moderate haemorrhagic effusion
  • I could not get mass to connect with the spleen, the adrenal glands and kidneys were normal
  • What do you think this mass please?

    This could be a retroperitoneal hemangiosarcoma or other sarcoma +/- hematoma

     

  2. With the hemorrhagic

    With the hemorrhagic effusion, anemia and thrombocytopenia would go for a ruptured hemangiosarcoma.

    Echo and thoracic rads, and lf clear then laparotomy.
