Cystic mass in a cat

An 11-year-old Himalayan cat was presented with the complain of abdominal enlargement. X-Ray showed mass effect in the caudal abdomen. US showed a huge cystic avascular mass starting from the urinary bladder and going all the way in the mid abdomen. It didn’t seem to be arising from the other organs. I haven’t done FNA for it yet. Any thoughts what it could be and ex lap should be done for excision or CT, followed by ex lap

  1. Weird…is this cat spayed if

Weird…is this cat spayed if female? My first thought would be either large cystic structure associated with the uterus or uterine remnant (maybe hydrometra?)if spayed vs unspayed and clinically applicable based on location but could also be omental, maybe lympatic in origin like a large unspecified omental cyst. The fluid is anechoic without cellular component and, to me, doesnt really look neoplastic. Not sure if fluid analysis will gve any beneficial info. CT likely ideal for further assessment and surgical planning to know what youre getting into with surgery given its size.

  2. Mesenteric or pancreatic cyst

Mesenteric or pancreatic cyst would be my guess looks benign just space occupying. I would explore directly and remove it. Its a polycystic breed. Big cystic ovary also since not spayed.
