Adrenal masses

  • 14 year old MN Shih Tzu with abdominal pain and weight loss.
  • Nodular liver, mineralised/old age kidneys and enlarged adrenal glands.
  • Do you think this is most likely adenocarcinoma? Does this occur bilaterally?
  • Is there vascular invasion?
  • No clinical signs consistent with phaeochromocytoma and apparently not with cushings.

  1. Sorry for the delay I missed this one.

    Bilateral hypertrophy can be pDH, metastatic disease, bilateral masses including carcinoma or pheo but also adenoma and myleolipoma. I would do a full adrenal panel, coag and 25g fna both adrenals and serial BP as well to define.
