What would typically make one investigate the chest during an abdominal ultrasound? The key factors I would think are ascites, masses, or dilated hepatic veins. Anything else that would drive you to the chest during an abdominal evaluation?

Vena Cava that doesn’t compress with respiration or a flat vena cava.multiple lung rockets seen through diaphragm or a sick dog that you can’t find anything e.g. acute pericardial effusion

Thromboses in the aortic trifurcation, cvc, portal vein, phrenic vein….
LN.. especially if hypercalcemia cranial mediastinal LN need to be imaged
