Subaortic Stenosis (SAS)

History

SAS (Subaortic Stenosis): Boxer, 2 years, breeding examination. 4/6 systolic murmur left heart base. No clinical signs. There is a high grade SAS present. Treated with Atenolol (1.5mg/kg bid). Turbulence can be seen on CDI, was then exactly located by tracking the LVOT, AV and Aorta with PW. Given that the PW velocities alias, CW provides us with vmax of 695 cm/sec consistent with severe SAS.
