Biopsy/FNA guides on the Mindray probes

Has anyone used the probe guide attachments for FNAs? I have near-field double vision, which makes lining up the probe and the needle fairly challenging. I’m willing to shell out the $360 to get the attachment, but can’t tell how it works, or if it is likely to make my life easier. 99% of what I am doing is FNAs, so just a biopsy guide wouldn’t be helpful…

Anyone?

Lol! Hi Liz, sorry for the delay but thanks for the chuckle! At SP Mobile we don’t use the ineedle guides at least not yet as most of our sticks are performed using the C-11 and I do believe the needle guides are for the linear probes only.

Thanks Kelly! I have asked Diane and she doesn’t really know. How can I follow up with this? Is there someone at MindRay who could help? 🙂 Liz

  2. Perhaps they have someone

Perhaps they have someone using them on the human side?

  3. I have not ever used them

I have not ever used them because I found them cumbersome and limiting for those challenging angles that you have to improvise with to get the needle in tough areas.

I think just focusing on freeehand techniques and practice is the best overall way to overcome needle awareness issues.

Eric, thanks, but it’s not a matter of hand eye coordination or practice. It’s a physical issue with my eyes – double vision. I need prism lenses but they make me dizzy…I’m golden at the beginning of the day but once my eye muscles get tired, I’m outta luck.

Can I contact the mindray folk directly? See if anyone can take some video for me?

      Thanks! 🙂 Liz

      • I think you would have more

I think you would have more luck googling for a you tube video to get you started here
