CT of the abdomen, plain and post contrast – The pancreas reveals moderate generalized enlargement with scalloping margins as
well as mildly heterogenous attenuation and enhancement pattern emphasizing the left
lobe. There are neither any nodular changes nor masses seen throughout the plain and
early & late post contrast series. Mild mesenteric fat stranding is noted next to the base
of the pancreas.
The periportal lymph nodes are within normal limits for size, shape, short-to-long axis
ratio as well as for attenuation and enhancement pattern.
The liver reveals no abnormalities.
The left caudal and accessory lung lobe both revealed mild peripheral atelectasis which
is likely to be an effect of the positioning and general anesthesia.
There is an asymmetric thoracolumbar transitional vertebra, which is an incidental
congenital abnormality. There are mild to moderate chronic mineralized disc
herniations throughout the mid lumbar spine which cause mild to moderate
compressive myelopathies. None of them is considered to be a recent event.
The computed tomography of the abdomen is negative for an insulinoma. The findings
are consistent with pancreatitis with mild regional peritonitis. Regarding the seizures/syncope consider central nervous as well as cardiac disease. doThe chronic mid lumbar disc herniations are likely to contribute to her hind limb
weakness/ataxia.
