DX

Lobar inflammatory pattern involving the caudate process. Suspected liver lobe torsion

Image Interpretation

The liver in this patient presented dramatically hypoechoic portion of right liver. This is consistent with caudate process with regional inflammation. The gallbladder and common bile duct were normal. The stomach was filled with ingesta, physiological for this species. The remainder of the intestinal tract was unremarkable. Free fluid was noted between the liver lobes. 

Outcome

Exploratory surgery is recommended
