just curious, when you find moderate GB sludge with mild increase in ALKP only, do you recommend sAME/ mild thistle /etc? or you just monitor liver enzymes ? find this a lot and see some of these dogs progressing in months or years to choleliths.

Regardign excessive GB derbis sludge then ursodiol would be the med to use especially with a driving SAP. Regarding ALT/AST elevations then this is a SAMe and other stabilizing nutraceuticals discussion. Urso is a free radical scavenger but enhances bile flow which the others are free radical scavengers and some other minor stabilizing actions so are more for stabilizing th hepatocyte damage.
