Inflammatory bowel disease or other intestinal inflammatory disease

A 6-year-old MN Rottweiller was presented with the complain of chronic vomiting. After doing the initial blood test and CPLi, which were normal, the RDVM sent the dog for further evaluation to rule out any infiltrative intestinal disease.

All the small intestines were normal. I found thickened rectum and proximal colon. There is a hyperechoic line running parallel to mucosa and the submucosa and muscularis are quite thickened. What do you think IBD or any other
infiltrative disease?

One response to “Inflammatory bowel disease or other intestinal inflammatory disease”

  1. Fluid filled oversdistended intestine. The thicker hyperechoic line is the submucosa. It looks bigger because of the wall distension with the fluid filled lumen. Nothing particularly abnormal with the wall.
