Possible shunt

  • 2 year old emaciated GSD with reported neurological signs after eating
  • BAST pending
  • The dog was heavily sedated for exam
  • Small liver, kidney and bladder stones
  • The caudal vena cava was enlarged but not sure just from sedation
  • Can you see any shunt?

    Large cvc  but its large in mid abdomen too and the pv is solid in size. I dont see an obvious shunt but the clinical signs are suggestive. Could have a right dividsional IH shunt which are very short. CT with contrast if the BAs are up.
