Question about setting on Mindray

Hi,

I recently took the echo course and I am having some trouble with getting a good setting for echo in cats.  I am having to use my C11 on the cats, which I know is not ideal.  It has a “cat cardiac” preset, but it is horribly dark and highly contrasty.  Is there a better setting to use?  Or is there a way to tweak the preset so it looks better to me?  Thanks for any help.  (I would love to buy the smaller phased array probe but the company I work for is not amenable)  Judy

-video attached is with the C-11 added by a SonoPath specialist.

Hi Judy, feel free to try the other cardiac settings, you may like the look compared to the cat cardiac. If you can, maybe upload a still pic from your machine showing your settings? What are your TGC pots set up as?

These are the presets I have available on my Mindray, and the associated settings.  And my TGC toggles.   Thanks for your help!  jas

TCGs look good, I would try turning off the iClear, or try adjusting the persistence. Unfortunately my Mindray is currently at the SonoPath Education center for the last day of our SDEP® abdomen training lab tomorrow. Cardiacs in general do appear more “grainy” than abdominal images I find, but it shouldn’t be dark. Does the gain not lighten it enough?

Ok, I’ll try a few things.  It didn’t seem like turning up the gain helped.  How do I adjust persistence?  Thanks, jas

Sorry, I had to hijack your original post to post my video of a cat I scanned today using the C-11 probe with small abdomen setting. Just face the probe marker toward to patient’s tail to get the proper orientation.

  5. Persistance is a soft key

Persistance is a soft key setting located at the top of your Mindray keyboard, you will need to toggle through the options to get to it.
