Patient is a clinically normal (BAR with good appetite) 12 YO FS Chihuahua with dark orange colored urine (bilirubin) and a normal size/shape gall bladder containing a moderate degree of suspended unorganized sludge. History of several episodes of UTI which responded to antibiotics. The orange urine is what brought this dog in to the rDVM.

I found an unusual ghost lesion/artifact when scanning both kidney’s with a linear probe (12L). See the clip of the left renal sag sweep to view this. Also see the transverse sweep of the same kidney.
Is this finding represent something real ?

Thank you all for your comments. BTW I showed this to a very experienced radiologist today…. who has not seen this type lesion before and can not offer an explanation. Regardless, this likely an incidental finding and not associated with important disease, but I remain curious.
