Protein losing nephropathy, glomerulonephritis, and uremic gastritis in a 3 year old intact male Labrador Retriever: Our December Case Of The Month
A 3-year-old intact male Labrador Retriever was presented for anorexia and weight loss. CBC was within normal limits, however blood chemistry showed hyperproteinemia, hypoalbuminemia, low albumin/globulin ratio, marked azotemia, hyperphosphatemia, mild hypocalcemia, hyperkalemia, and hyperamylasemia. T4 was within normal range. The urine had a cloudy appearance; 3+ proteinuria and 3+ hematuria were present on urinalysis.

Left ureteral calculus with obstruction in a 4 year old FS DSH cat
A 4-year-old female spayed DSH cat was presented for a follow-up evaluation of left-sided hydronephrosis with left ureterolith. Abnormalities on laboratory testing included azotemia and mild anemia.

Adrenal mass in a 7 year old MN DSH cat
A 7-year-old NM DSH was presented for evaluation of PU/PD and weight loss. Survey radiographs showed small kidneys with mineralization and volume contracted heart. CBC and serum biochemistry showed anemia, hypoalbuminemia, hyperglobulinemia, azotemia, and hyperphosphatemia.

Compensated mitral insufficiency in a 5 year old FS Pomeranian dog
A 5-year-old FS Pomeranian dog was presented for evaluation of weight loss and Iris stage 2 renal disease. No murmur was audible on physical examination. Abnormalities on blood work were azotemia, elevated cPL, and very elevated ProBNP.

A 16-year-old MI Lhasa was presented for evaluation. Laboratory work showed glycosuria, proteinuria, severe leukocytosis, azotemia, and hypercalcemia. Hypertension (240) was also present.
